Geometry disappeared

good morning everybody.

 

I was going around filleting corners and ALL my geometry dissappeared. I wasn't using the keyboard, so I don't think I accidently hit something. If I try to create new geometry now, it doesn't show up. Does anybody have a suggestion for me to try? I opened a new window of MCX and opened the same file and it's good, I only lost a little work, I just want to know if I did something goofy so I don't do it again.

Regenerate screen brought it back.

 

I was trying everything but that apparently, I still don't know why it happened.

This has happened to me a few times since I got this new Dell 9150.

I just close MC and then open it up again.

I have a habit of saving ALOT so I don't lose much when this happens.

I used to get some strange video errors like that. I would just save my file and re-open it. I figured it was something with my video card because only certain computers would do it. The entities are not gone, they just seem to be hidden somehow. Re-opening the file always took care of it. No problems lately.

It didn't take but one time of losing a half hour of work to find the "autosave" its a pain but I have it set for 5 minutes. It usually takes me that long just to draw a line so now I'm okay

Yesterday I had surfaces dissapear from a wingtip and repaint didn't bring them back, however when the mouse moved over a missing surface it would pop back into view. I attributed it to the fact that I had 2 instances of MCX and Catia running at once.

 

But I have dual core, 2 gig RAM and Quadro FX3450 so it should be able to handle it.

Just curious what happens if you hit the screen statistics button when your geometry disapears. Does mastercam still acknowledge it is there.

try using regenerate display list when it happens. It happens to me occosionally when i am using hide and turn on other levels. I regenerate display, turn shading off and on, and its back to normal.
