how would a fellow import one or two dimensions into a drawing without importing all of them? I mistakenly deleted a few dim from a drawing, and want to bring them back in, but not the whole lot of 'em.

Maybe save the drawing under a different name, open it up in SW and add what you need.

Hello Chris,

 

A couple of ideas, you can configure Mastercam to automatically find and delete duplicate geometry when you open the file.

 

If you File -> File Merge/Pattern the drawing again, you could also try Edit -> Delete -> Delete Duplicates, there are simple and advanced functions.

 

One last trick is the FindOverlap CHOOK.

Settings -> Run User Application -> chook.

It cleans up a lot of duplicate and overlapping geometry.

 

Maybe you could just save the dims you want to add as a new file and File -> File Merge/Pattern.

sorry I was referring to solidworks, and how to re-import select dimensions into a .sldrw from the .sldprt. I know there are a few users around here.

If I were in your situation, I would forget about importing the dimensions and just manually put those two back in. I am certainly no Solidworks Guru though!
