extra x and y moves

I wanted to know if its possible to not have extra x and y moves when doing a line with lead in and out. I'll give you an example cause I'm sure I won't explain it properly. Lets say I have a straight line I want to cut with a lead in and out of 75% with a 17/32 endmill. The line is 6 inches long. The program spits out something like this

G01Y.3984

Y0.

Y-6.

Y-6.3984

See what I mean as why not just go straight to Y-6.3984. Why does it post with the Y0 and Y-6?

Believe it or not, some of the numnuts here at work actually extend their lines in the drawing by half the cutter, every dam drawing, instead of using LI,LO. This will also give them a single segment of code. Irks me to no end.

I feel for you. That drives me up the wall too.

Thoob,

I don't believe it's possible. People have been asking about this since the extend/shorten feature was added to lead in/out in V9.1.

FWIW, MC finds a way to post a single line of code if you shorten the line....but not if you extend it.

Ok guys, thanks alot. Its not a big deal, the reason I was asking is if i have a long line to do(usually on BR600 plate) and the break buzzer goes, I would usually just put the single block on and let it finish the cut and not the whole program, but with the extra lines, it stops with half the cutter rubbing and I don't usually like to leave the carbide rubbing the hard plate for 15 mins. lol
