Parallel cuts question

Hey Guys,

I am making a roughing program that goes around a round part in my 4th axis.

I'm using Parallel cuts with depth cuts enabled, by the time it gets done the A axis is pretty wound up around A30000.

Is there a way after each depth cut to unwind and start back at the starting A value?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

TIA,

Greg

In an operation not that I am aware of. Have you looked at how the post is setup. Assuming a 5 axis post and they ignore the machine definition on winds and unwinds. What I have found works best is just copy the operation how many times I am doing depths of cuts and just adjust each one to be the depth of cut. If still doing it then create a point toolpath to zero out the axis every time between the operations and again copy it.

I programed the following code:

G74 A (F@gor 8055 controller)

Machine reference (home) search.

This will take it home after hitting switch.

It does mess up the program if you run it mid program takes you out of G54 so I reset the program and re-started where I left off.

I modified the program added a M00 with a note to run G45 in MDI and then re-start the program where it left off.

Thanks for the help.
