jack are you talking about contour tool path?
-
version x my bad
-
ok I tried the solid layout it created a drawing with the 4 standard windows on a paper size. I just want the geometry around the outside of the solid to machine the contour.
am I doing something wrong
-
is there a quick way to create geometry for the outside contour of a solid.
I just want the outside profile without having to create lines and arcs by hand
-
you could post the code and add it in the manual input of the mazatrol or you could just get a post to handle it a multiplex is a pretty simple lathe to handle 2 spindles 2 turrets m function pretty simple maybe you should just tell the guy tough crap with using mazatrol sure its nice for turning but come on!
-
If you want to dispose of it you will have to pay call your coolant distributor
or pump it in a barrel and take it with you to reuse
-
It is not HSS it is powdered metal with cobalt we run 1/2 at 11460 rpm at 206 ipm pocket 1/2 deep depths I am sure metal removal rates are very close.

How about cleveland PM Plus list #538
cheaper then carbide and last for ever we run them in our cell for weeks. must be TiCN coated though.
Try them!
-
better built and HAAS just don't go together!
YCM eats a HAAS for lunch and very close on price
-
Great, have a good day. Sorry we didnt figure it out quicker
-
Did you try that?
So it was the NA and NB that were giving you troubles?

This is how our code looks

Another thing i just noticed

NA10 IF[VATOL EQ 1 ] NB10
T1 M6
T2
G15 H1
NB10 G0 X2.7257 Y2.1296

you should put your G15 H in the NB10 line
if the statement is true it will skip your work coordinate G15 H1

you would know if you were running scheduled. what method is number 3? it should tell you at the bottom of the dispaly when you are in auto
-
you do not have to use the variables to run a program it is just a safety line to make sure you do not start with the wrong tool in the spindle.
-
Oh are you running a scheduled program?
-
Look in your manual maybe it is 0 there is several operation methods
-
Yes we have it to check each tool
Ok make sure you always write down your original setting.
go to parameters page down to NC optional parameter WORD
#11 is designation of operation method I dont have the book in front of me but I think 1 is A
you can check your manuals to make sure
what machine is it MX 45 or ?
-
I just checked we are running method A just a minute I will tell you how to change it
-
Thats right, it drops the pot so you still need to clear it with the M64. you can change your operation method but B should work. We use the same on our 7000 control and I have not had that alarm
-
NA comes from lathe guys and IGF it posts NAT which stands for next actual tool you are right you can use most letter combos
-
VATOL is actual tool in spindle
VNTOL is next tool ( in ready pot)
M64 is next tool return (incase wrong tool in ready pot)
it is a way to make sure you have the right tool in the spindle on restart.
you can do the same with FANUC just #'s instead of letters
I assume this is on a horizontal
you can change your operation method I have never had this problem
-
Gary is right if you are using a peck drill cycle you will have to adjust your retract and return parameters to keep chips out
